Gum surgery... food I can eat?

I had a gum surgery five hours ago and I can eat Frosted Mini Wheats, noodles, slices of pizza and macaroni and cheese....... but my parents said "No chips" but I believe the dentist said only until the novaicene wears off. It did wear off. What's wrong with chips? Pfft.
