What would cause a wax warmer to trip the electrical breaker?

Sometimes bulbs are bad right out of the package. Try a different bulb. If the bulb itself burned out it probably wasn't the warmer, it was probably a bad bulb. Those usually take a 15 or 25 watt bulb.
